FFA Missions

The FFA (Fédération Française de l'acier), French Steel Federation, brings together federations and syndicates representing companies throughout France active in the production or transformation of steel.

I - The FFA represents and defends the profession in its relations with authorities of national, European and international scope.

II - The FFA studies all matters concerning the development and progress of the steel industry and is the channel for technical relations with steelmakers abroad.

III - The services or directorates of the FFA provide its members with a combination of services:

• In technical matters: 
  • the ATS (Association Technique de la Sidérurgie) , technical association of the steelmaking industry
  • the BN Acier (Bureau de Normalisation de l'Acier), Steelmaking Standardization Office 
• To obtain information:
  • Information/communications and Documentation (see detailed flowchart )
• In economic, statistic and international business matters (see detailed flowchart)
• In the transport sector (see transport)

The services or directorates also distribute documents and/or magazines with which you will be presented on the respective sites of the ATS, the BNS/BNTA and the Revue de Métallurgie. The documents distributed directly by the FFA are indicated in the information section, under the heading “publications”.

The FFA is also active in promoting steel, working jointly with ConstruirAcier and in the promotion of new steelmaking techniques, new processes and leading-edge materials through the Revue de Métallurgie .

Lastly it exerts a leading role in the environmental field.
