How is steel made ?

Transformation of steel is a process consisting of 3 stages

- 1 -
From the raw materials to molten steel
The final purpose: to adjust the chemical composition of the steel

Two processes : ore-based  and scrap-based

- 2 -
From molten steel to semi-products: solidification of the steel and slabbing.

Two processes : continuous casting  and ingot casting

- 3 -
From semi-products to finished products: shaping and dimensioning by rolling, followed by a variety of finishing processes

Two product groups : long products (bars, wire , beams…) and flats (plates, coils and sheets).
